Never promise something you can’t deliver. You know how easy it is; “I promise to be good” “I promise I will never lie” “I promise my daughter can turn straw into gold…”

The Miller’s daughter is in a pickle, thanks to her mother and her silly promise. How on earth do you turn straw into gold? Well there’s a certain little man who knows how…

From the team that brought last year’s hit ‘The Frog Prince and other Tales’ Forest Forge and BumbleFly Theatre Companies take to the road again with this brand-new adaptation of the classic Grimm’s Fairy-tale.

The Travelling Players will bring their trademark anarchic storytelling and beautiful imagery to this well-known story of the short man with the very long name. Along the way we will meet a host of other fairy-tale characters getting caught up in the fun. With magical effects and songs to have you singing your way home, this treasure trove of storytelling will shine like gold!

The travelling players have gone up in the world and set up shop in a castle to tell the story of The Frog Prince.

Everyone wants to live in a castle; to eat fine food, sleep in the softest, comfortablest bed, even a talking frog; but the spoilt princess really doesn’t want to share. She can’t see that ugliness may only be skin deep!

Forest Forge and Bumblefly Theatre team up again to bring you this classic story for the festive season. Filled with madcap humour and a sprinkling of magic, the team that brought you The Elves and The Shoemaker and Hansel and Gretel will serve up a large portion of family fun and brilliant storytelling. On The Elves and The Shoemaker "inventive, energetic and altogether engaging production" (The Fine Times Recorder)

What castle would be complete without a long haired maiden in a tower and a prince chopping through brambles to get inside? Many characters from familiar fairy tales plus a couple of lesser known gems keep the action moving whilst memorable songs will have you singing all the way home!

This show toured from 3rd Dec 2015 to 23rd Jan 2016

Lost in the deep dark forest, the children come across many well known fairytale figures who try to help, or hinder them, as they draw ever closer to a strange house that looks good enough to eat! Throughout this adventure, audiences are actively encouraged to join in with the show; providing sound effects and practical help as Hansel and Gretel and their many friends  make their way through the enchanted forest.

Business is slow for the Shoemaker and his wife, their shoes aren’t exactly walking out of the door and just when they are wondering what to do, something magical happens.

This exciting production offers storytelling at its best. The Shoemaker story is mixed with other fairytales old and new as the shoe shop is visited by Prince Charming, Puss in Boots, the Wicked Witch of the West and many more! Can the shoemaker provide footwear to match the Emperor's new clothes? And how do you make a glass slipper? Perhaps with a bit of magic and a couple of friendly elves!

Bumblefly bring their trademark mayhem, mischief, song and slapstick to a show for all the family.
